Tennis Retail Attendant

Position Summary:  The Tennis Pro Shop provides casual, friendly service while maintaining a high level of professionalism. The retail attendant position with the assistance of managers and supervisors, is to proficiently attend to the guests’ needs with accurate and informative service. Operation of a point of sale system, responding to guest both in person and via telephone are integral to this position. 

Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, or equivalent vocational training certificate, required.
• Computer and POS experience preferred.
• Basic retail experience recommended, management experience a plus.
• Must have a flexible schedule to work mornings, afternoons, weekends and holidays.
• Good to excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.

Expectations & Responsibilities:

• Work behind the check-in counter completing sales transactions and reservations for instructional programs and special events, while providing gracious service to customers at all times.
• Assist the Manager-Buyer in the purchasing, receiving, pricing, and stocking of the tennis merchandise and equipment using Dataworks.
• Greet and welcome all guests and ensure they feel welcome.
• Utilize programs such as Micros for sales transactions and Open Activity for reservations of court times, events, and instructional programs.
• Complete daily checklists for opening and closing the Tennis Pro Shop.
• Help maintain an organized and neat workspace, including computerized court sheets and upkeep of pro shop.
• Assist with quarterly inventory using Dataworks.
• Assist with maintaining an adequate inventory level and par level for high-turnover items.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum weight of 25 lbs.
• Must be able to work on-site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
• Mus be able to stand for the entirety of the shift while reaching, bending, and stooping.
