Junior Pipeline Design / Drafting Technologist

Summary of Position:

This Position is acontractor based role out of our Calgary Office.

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-orientedJunior Pipeline Drafter to join our growing team. Working within the Drafting & Design group and in collaboration with Pipeline Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers, you will provide drafting support for pipeline and facility projects using AutoCAD and related software applications.

This position is intended for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to develop a career in pipeline drafting and design.

Accountabilities:

• Prepare and revise pipeline design drawings for various energy and infrastructure projects.
• Review and implement multiple clients drafting standards and specifications.
• Incorporate engineering markups, comments, and redline revisions into drawing packages.
• Maintain drawing files, project documentation, and drafting records.
• Knowledge of coordinate systems and projections.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Conduct drafting checks of drawings at various stages of completion to ensure quality compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Technical school certification / degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• 0–3 years of drafting experience in pipeline, civil, municipal, utility, or related industries.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and drafting principles.
• Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-discipline environment.
• Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, problem solve and complete tasks in a timely manner and under tight deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with the use of mapping software (i.e. Google Earth, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Map 3D, etc.) would be an asset.
• Familiarity with pipeline alignment sheets and plan/profile drawings.
• Understanding of survey data and terrain mapping.
• Exposure to oil & gas, utility, municipal, or industrial projects would be considered an asset.
