Laborer

ASRC Federal Cyber is seeking a Laborer at Fort Greely, Alaska. The Laborer performs general physical labor and facility support tasks requiring limited specialized skill or prior experience. Work is performed with minimal direct supervision and includes material handling, grounds support, snow removal, excavation, equipment movement, and other assigned labor activities.

Essential Duties & Job Functions
•    Loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances.
•    Moves supplies and materials to designated locations using wheelbarrows, hand trucks, carts, and other approved material-handling equipment.
•    Stacks, stages, and organizes materials for storage or binning.
•    Collects and handles refuse, debris, and salvageable materials generated from work activities.
•    Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations.
•    Levels and grades ground using picks, shovels, tampers, rakes, and similar hand tools.
•    Shovels and places concrete as required.
•    Performs snow and ice removal, including shoveling and spreading sand or other approved traction material on roads and walkways.
•    Cleans culverts, drainage areas, and ditches.
•    Cuts trees, brush, and vegetation as assigned.
•    Operates power lawnmowers and other grounds-maintenance equipment.
•    Moves and arranges heavy office, facility, and household furniture, equipment, and appliances.
•    Assists with moving automotive, engineering, mechanical, and other machinery or equipment.
•    Provides general labor support and minor non-specialized maintenance assistance.
•    Performs related work as assigned.
•    Able to operate small skid steer equipment safely as assigned.
•    Responsible for spill cleanup and removal of spill-related waste/materials from designated areas in accordance with site procedures and applicable requirements.
•    Assists with fuel offloading operations at designated areas in accordance with established safety and site procedures.

Accountable For
•    Following standard safety practices and using required personal protective equipment.
•    Safe use of hand and power tools commonly used in construction and facility-support activities.
•    Understanding and following verbal and written directions.
•    Working cooperatively and safely with others on joint projects.
•    Performing assigned duties with minimal supervision.
•    Safely climbing and working from extension ladders, scaffolding, and other approved elevated work platforms when required.
•    Maintaining awareness of changing worksite and weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications
•    High school diploma or GED equivalent.
•    0–2 years of prior labor experience.
•    Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
•    Able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
•    Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Physical Requirements
•    Must be capable of continuously lifting and handling objects weighing up to 35 pounds throughout the workday.
•    Must be capable of participating in a two-person/team lift of objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
•    Must be able to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, carry, and perform repetitive physical labor as required.
•    Must be able to safely perform work on ladders and scaffolding.
•    Must be able to communicate effectively to understand instructions, provide information, and respond to safety warnings.
Work Conditions
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors at Fort Greely, Alaska. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, snow, ice, wind, precipitation, and other inclement weather conditions. The position requires sustained physical activity and may involve work on uneven terrain, around active facility operations, and in construction or maintenance work areas. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required based on the assigned task and work environment.
