Fire Alarm Technician (supporting NASA)

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to support our Prime NASA program at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.

Summary/General Description of Job:

Maintains fire protection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacture’s specifications and the National Fire Protection Association standards.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Tests, maintains and/or repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems on site
• Visually Inspects fire alarm equipment for defective components and replaces defective components as needed.
• Tests initiating devices, signal circuits, detector and system transmitters making repairs as needed.
• Ability to operate Government or company owned vehicles.
• Assists and supports other departments, staff and /or trade groups as needed or directed.
• Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related work as required or assigned.

 Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory

• High school graduate or equivalent GED.
• Four years (4) years’ experience with fire alarm systems.
• Experience maintaining Siemens XLS and MXL Systems.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
