Brain Injury Rehabilitation Worker

The opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill1 new opportunity for a Full-TimeBrain Injury Rehabilitation Worker in our Northeast region - Timmins, ON. 

• Flexible schedule: Monday to Friday at 8:30am-4:30pm (start and end times are flexible).
• Starting wage: $23.35 per hour. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
• Hours: 35 hours per week. 

Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized support services plans within the home and/or community for adults with brain injury (BI)
• Assist individuals with brain injury in instrumental activities of daily living, cognitive and problem-solving skills, community orientation and integration
• Provide services on a flexible basis during weekday business hours
• Reporting responsibilities including daily log note recording, incident reports, and verbal reports as required
• Participate in training as required
• Follow policies and procedures as required

Qualifications and experience:

• Post-Secondary in Human or Social Services preferred or Rehabilitation Assistant diploma
• Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI
• Current CPR, First Aid is an asset
• Access to vehicle to use for business and valid driver’s license
• Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Sound problem solving skills
• Proven ability to work independently / autonomously
• Knowledge of and experience working with local community housing and social services resources
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• French-English bilingualism an asset
