General Information/Job Summary

TheWelder is responsible forvarioustypes ofweld preparation,welding andweld finishing operations to manufacture product to customerdrawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. They areresponsibleforknowingandfollowingappropriatesafetyproceduresto make safety checks and conduct safetymeetings, and for coordinatingwith operating personnelregarding permits and clearances to initiate maintenance and repairactivities.

Lay out, fabricate, assemble,install, and maintainpiping, pipingsystems, andequipment for steam, hotwater,cooling,lubricating, and industrial processingsystems. Applyknowledge of plans, andworkdrawings in performing tasks.

Must be successful on the following.

• Must be able to pass an all GTAW (TIG) 2" monster coupon 6G position.
• Must be able to pass an all SMAW (Stick) 2" monster coupon 6G position.

Responsibilities/Competencies

• Determinesmethodsandmaterialsneededtoaccomplishassignedconstructionmaintenance, orrepair tasks.
• Performs lockout and tag procedures to secureequipment and check to ensure proper lockout procedures are used.
• Must be able toweld plate junctures,vertical,horizontal, and pipe to thehigh standards necessary to passradiographic inspection asrequired in API 650 and 653.
• Must be able to pass tests asdescribed under specific customerrequirements.Musthave the skill to useoxygen-acetylene cutting equipment.
• Cuts pipe, usingsaws, pipe cutter,hammerandchisel,cuttingtorch,andpipecuttingmachine.Workingknowledge of fixture andweld set up parameters (amps,volts, etc.)
• Proficient inassignedweldingtechniques such as MIG, Flux Core, TIG, and stickwelding.
• Interpretationofmechanicaldrawings,includingespeciallyincludingweldrequirementsymbols.
• Knowledge ofwire andfiller materialsapplications forvarious steelalloys, aluminum, and someexotic materials.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks thatrequired manuallymoving materials, tools, andequipment and using hand tools andpower tools.
• Performswork area clean-up andsafety related duties. Communicateswithvarious personnel.
• Uses basicknowledge ofregulations andrequirements. Other duties asassigned by the areasupervisor.
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation.Welding equipment maintenance.
• Finishgrindingapplications using manual andpower tools.
• Requiresworking in operating facilities andobserving and abiding by additional safetypolicies and procedures.
• Gives suitableassignments to helpers.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Three (4)years ofexperience inworkinvolving avariety oflayout,installation, and maintenance tasks
• Possessvaliddrivers’ license with agooddrivingrecord
• Furnish own welding machine, tools, truck, hood and Tig rig.

Ability to pass drug testas mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drugprogram

Attends safetymeetings and specialty training as directed by management

Attendsvarious training classes as may beassigned by management

Perform related duties andresponsibilities asrequired
