The Project Officer is embedded in the MSH Cameroon country team to strengthen day-to-day project management foran anticipated project in Cameroon. The role coordinatessupports effective implementation ofan anticipated projects in Cameroonby coordinatingthe project’s milestone plan, tracks deadlines and dependencies, and ensures that complete supporting documentation is assembled for milestone review and payment requests.Â
Working closely with theMSH CountryDirectorand technical, finance, operations, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL),and headquarters teams, the ProjectOfficer follows up on agreed actions, obtains required inputs from responsible colleagues, and identifies delays, risks, or documentation gaps requiring management attention.Â
The rolemaintains project management tools, reporting calendars, trackers, and organized records to supporttimely reporting, informed decision-making, donor compliance, and audit readiness. The position coordinates and monitors work across functions and supportsproject activities; responsibility for technical and operationalqualityremains with the respective leads.Â
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project management,Implementation support, and Coordination - 40%
• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation ofMSHCameroonproject activitiesin accordance with approved workplans, milestones and projectobjectives.Â
• Work closely with technical teams, government counterparts, partners, and other stakeholders tofacilitatetimely implementation.Â
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, training sessions, and other program activities, including preparation of agendas, materials, and follow-up actions.Â
• Track implementation progress andidentify delays, challenges, or issues requiring management attention.Â
• Follow up with responsible staff and partners on agreed actions, deliverables, and deadlines.Â
• Support coordination between technical, finance, operations, and headquarters teams tofacilitate program implementation.
Projects Documentation and Reporting - 30%
• Support the preparation andtimely submissionof reports, workplans, presentations, and other required deliverables.Â
• Collect, review, andconsolidate inputs from program staff, partners, and other stakeholders.Â
• Document program activities, meetings, achievements, lessons learned, and implementation challenges.Â
•Maintain organized records of program documents, reports, correspondence, and supporting materials.Â
• Ensure documentation is complete and consistent with project, donor, and MSH requirements.Â
• Support the preparation of documentation related to project deliverables, milestones, and payment requests, whenrequired.Â
Meetings, Events, and Stakeholder Coordination - 20%
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, training sessions, and other project events.Â
• Prepare agendas, invitations, presentations, participant lists, and other meeting materials.Â
• Coordinate with government institutions, partners, consultants, and other stakeholders on meeting arrangements and follow-up.Â
• Work with finance and operations teams tofacilitate logistical arrangements andrequired documentation, when neededÂ
• Support field visits, partner meetings, and other program-related activities, as needed.Â
Administrative and Operational Support ​- 10%
• Support travel arrangements and coordination for projects staff, headquarters visitors, and consultants, whenrequired forproject activitiesÂ
• Prepare correspondence, briefing materials, and other documents requested by project leadership.Â
• Coordinate administrative follow-up related to program activities, consultants, and service providers.Â
• Perform other duties consistent with theposition as assigned by the supervisor.Â
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in project management, business or public administration, international development, public health, ora related field.Â
Preferred:Â
Master’s degree in a related field.Â
Required Minimum Experience
6years of relevant experience in project coordination or project management, preferably supporting donor-funded health or international development programs.Â
Knowledge and Skills
• Strong project planning, coordination, organization, and follow-up skills, with close attention to deadlines and detail.Â
• Experiencemaintaining milestone plans, action trackers, reporting calendars, document repositories, or comparable project management tools.Â
• Ability to interpret award requirements, coordinate inputs across technical and operational teams, and assemble complete supporting documentation.Â
•Abilitytoidentify dependencies, risks, delays, and documentation gaps and escalate them clearly and promptly.Â
•Demonstrated ability to obtaintimely inputs and commitments from colleagues atdifferent levels whilemaintaining productive working relationships.Â
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, andrecords management skills.Â
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with SharePoint,Smartsheets, or similar collaboration and tracking tools is preferred.Â
•Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.Â
