Drogue is building the world's first offshore floating data centers. We're a small team tackling a massive, first-of-its-kind engineering challenge. If you thrive in ambiguity, love hard problems, and want to build something that's never been built before — keep reading.

We're not putting servers on a barge. We're engineering a new class of ocean-deployed infrastructure that generates its own power, recovers its own waste heat, stays on station in severe weather, and runs autonomously. This requires a mix of first principles engineering and existing technology from other industries.

As aSimulation Engineer you'll build the computational backbone that lets us test, break, and optimize our platform before it ever hits the water. From high-fidelity CFD models to multi-physics simulations to digital twins, you'll create the virtual environment where our engineering team makes decisions faster and with more confidence. When something needs to be modeled, simulated, or visualized, that's you. There is no legacy tool stack to defend, you'll help build it from scratch.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain high-fidelity models and simulation environments for the full platform

  • Develop multi-physics simulations: structural, thermal, fluid, and dynamic response under realistic ocean conditions

  • Create digital twin frameworks that tie simulation models to real sensor data as we move to prototype and deployment

  • Run scenario analysis (extreme weather, failure modes, load cases) so we find the problems before the ocean does

Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Engineering, or related field

  • Strong proficiency in various simulation platforms, strong opinions on tool selection for FEA, CFD, and hydrodynamic modeling

  • Experience building simulations that informed real engineering decisions, not just academic exercises

This role is based inWashington, D.C. and will include some time at sea. We offer generousrelocation assistance for candidates across the US. We pay our employeescompetitive salariesbased on level of experience and offermeaningful equity in a fast growing company. Apply below, or reach out atjobs@drogue.com with questions.
