Compliance Manager

Our client, a well-established CSP based in Malta, is looking for aCompliance Manager to join their growing team. In this role, you will oversee the company's compliance framework, manage AML/CFT processes, and lead the compliance team.
This is ahybridrole offering a salary of up to €45K.
Please note that only candidates already based in Malta can be considered.
Role & Responsibilities
Oversee the company's compliance framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and that policies, procedures, and controls are consistently applied across the business
Manage end-to-end KYC/KYB and CDD processes, ensuring onboarding files meet FIAU standards, including Beneficial Ownership identification and verification
Oversee the client risk rating methodology and manage the periodic CDD refresh programme in line with risk classification
Review EDD files, PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening outcomes
Manage transaction and activity monitoring processes, ensuring red flags are identified and escalated promptly
Lead, supervise, and mentor the compliance team, allocating workloads effectively and conducting performance reviews
Act as the primary escalation point for technical compliance queries within the team
Review complex or high-risk client onboarding cases, including those involving complex corporate structures, trusts, or high-risk jurisdictions
Coordinate with client-facing and corporate services teams to resolve compliance-related onboarding queries
Design and deliver AML/CFT training programmes for all staff, maintaining training records and ensuring mandatory training is completed on time
Oversee the use of compliance technology, including screening tools, CDD platforms, and case management systems, identifying opportunities for process improvements
Ensure compliance data and client records are maintained in line with GDPR
Education, Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a local CSP firm, with at least 1 year in a managerial role
Proven experience in managing a team
Obtaining MFSA PQ status is a requirement, including holding the role of Risk Management Officer and completion of the mandatory training
Fluency in English both written and spoken
Strong understanding of the Company Service Providers Act (Cap. 529), MFSA CSP Rulebook, and FIAU Implementing Procedures
Knowledgeable of AML/CFT obligations, CDD/EDD requirements, and beneficial ownership frameworks
Familiarity with EU regulatory developments including AMLD6
Experience with Inscope is a plus
Analytical, organised with report-writing skills
Multi-tasker with the ability to respect deadlines
