As a Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will take a leading technical role in the design, verification and validation of electronic hardware for industrial control systems used in HVDC applications.
You will operate with a high level of autonomy, applying sound engineering judgment, while contributing to technical strategy, standards and best practices within your discipline.
Job Description
What You Will Do:
Electronic Hardware Design & Engineering:
- Design and developdigital and analogue electronic circuits for industrial control systems
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout reviews and component selection
- Ensure designs meetEMC, environmental, EHS, RoHS/REACH and regulatory requirements
- ApplyDFMEA, failure analysis and root cause analysis
Testing, Verification & Validation:
- Leadbench testing, integration testing and type testing (EMC, environmental, HALT)
- SupportFATs and qualification testing with suppliers and test laboratories
- Validate performance, reliability and manufacturability of designs
Technical Leadership & Authority:
- Act astechnical authority within your domain
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced engineers
- Influencetechnical policy, standards and design practices
- Interface with external manufacturers and integrators to drive optimal design solutions
Lifecycle & Industrialisation:
- SupportDFM / DFT, industrialisation and design-to-cost
- Manage component lifecycle, obsolescence and lead-time risks
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports
Skills & Experience:To be successful in this role, you should bring strong electronics engineering expertise, sound technical judgment and the ability to work effectively in a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Essential:
- Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or similar
- Strong experience indigital and analogue electronic design
- PCB design knowledge (layout rules, constraints, interactions with power electronics)
- Experience inverification and validation testing
- Strong failure analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously within complex engineering environments
Highly Desirable:
- Experience inHVDC or power electronics systems
- FPGA selection experience
- Knowledge of industrial networks (Profibus, Ethernet, PON)
- Exposure to firmware or software development
- Experience with modelling tools (LTSpice, SIMetrix, Mathcad)
