Position Summary
San Bruno Skilled Nursing is seeking a compassionate, organized, and customer-focusedAdmissions Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral partners, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming admissions experience. Working closely with the Admissions Coordinator and interdisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in coordinating admissions, maintaining compliance, and supporting occupancy growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources.
- Coordinate and schedule admissions, including pre-admission assessments and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate resident records in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and financial eligibility processes.
- Conduct facility tours and provide information to prospective residents and families.
- Collaborate with nursing, social services, and administrative departments to ensure seamless resident transitions.
- Prepare admission packets and required documentation.
- Follow up with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and referral partners to obtain timely and complete information.
- Support marketing, community outreach, and census development efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in admissions, healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification processes.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Regular use of a computer, phone, and office equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
