The Senior Associate will be responsible for executing and overseeing daily accounting and reconciliation activities across investment portfolios, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery. The role requires strong analytical capability, operational rigor, and the ability to manage exceptions, risks, and stakeholder expectations within a middle office environment.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
1. Reconciliation & Break ManagementÂ
- Perform daily cash, position, and transaction reconciliations across multiple asset classesÂ
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks within defined SLAsÂ
- Identify root causes and drive permanent resolution of recurring discrepanciesÂ
- Liaise with custodians, fund administrators, and internal teams to resolve issuesÂ
2. Accounting &Â TMVÂ OversightÂ
- Support IBOR accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, and valuation checksÂ
- Review trial balances and assist in TMV validation processesÂ
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal control frameworksÂ
3. Exception Handling & Risk ControlÂ
- Monitor exceptions and escalate high-risk items in a timely mannerÂ
- Ensure compliance with operational risk and control proceduresÂ
- Participate in audits and provide required documentation and explanationsÂ
4. Process Improvement & AutomationÂ
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventionÂ
- Support automation initiatives and system enhancementsÂ
- Contribute to standardization and documentation of processesÂ
5. Stakeholder ManagementÂ
- Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, and external partnersÂ
- Provide clear and concise reporting on reconciliation status and key issuesÂ
- Collaborate with front office, fund accounting, and technology teamsÂ
6. Team ContributionÂ
- Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharingÂ
- Assist in workload management and ensure timely deliverablesÂ
Qualifications & ExperienceÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CA/CFA/CPA is a plus)Â
- 3Â to 10Â years of experience in middle office, fund accounting, or reconciliation rolesÂ
- Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives preferred)Â
- Experience with reconciliation tools and accounting systemsÂ

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
- High attention to detail and accuracyÂ
- Good understanding of financial markets and investment operationsÂ
- Effective communication and stakeholder managementÂ
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environmentÂ

Preferred CompetenciesÂ
- Knowledge of reconciliation platforms (e.g., TLM, DUCO, IntelliMatch)Â
- Exposure to automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python, RPA)Â
- Understanding of regulatory and audit requirementsÂ
