BTI360 is looking to add an ISSE to our team! As an ISSE at BTI360, you’ll play a mission-criticalrole ensuring our software systems meet security and compliance requirements. You will guide development teams through the A&A process from design through deployment.You’ll serve as a bridge between technical teams, security stakeholders, and accrediting authorities, helping all parties navigate requirements and deliver secure, mission-ready solutions.
What you will do in this role:
- Lead or support theAuthorization & Accreditation (A&A) process for multiple software systemsÂ
- Interpret and applySponsor-specific security requirements, policies, and control frameworks (based on NIST and Sponsor overlays)Â
- Collaborate with engineering teams earlyin the development lifecycle to design systems that meetsecurity, compliance, and mission needsÂ
- Prepare andmaintainsecurity documentation
- Guide teams through theaccreditation process, ensuring documentation and system posture align with Sponsor expectationsÂ
- Interface directly withInformation SystemSecurity Managers (ISSMs), Authorizing Officials (AOs), and security stakeholdersÂ
- Provide security engineering input onarchitecture, data flows, boundary protections, and cloud configurationsÂ
- Champion secure development practices and influence teams to make thoughtful tradeoffs between risk, performance, and agilityÂ
- Track security posture and coordinateongoing security monitoring, updates, and control implementation as systems evolveÂ
- Lead briefings/meetings with the Sponsor
Minimum Requirements to be Considered for this Role:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required at time of application
- Proven experience supporting theAuthorization & Accreditation (A&A) of[Insert classification level]systems in the Sponsor environmentÂ
- Deep understanding ofsecurity controls, risk assessments, and documentationrequired for ATO submissionsÂ
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to partner with software engineers, architects, and mission stakeholdersÂ
- Familiarity with cloud security architectures and controls (AWS preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and comfort engaging with both technical and non-technical audiencesÂ
You may excel in this role if you have the following skills:
- Experience accrediting systems athigher classification levelsÂ
- Background insoftware engineering,DevSecOps, or IT systems engineering
- Familiarity withICD 503,RMF, andSponsor-specific overlaysÂ
- Familiarity with Sponsor-specific tooling including Nessus, Rapid7,WebInspect,AppDetect, and/or NipperÂ
- Experience withcontainerized deployments, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), or automated compliance toolingÂ
- Security certifications such asCISSP,CAP, orAWS Security SpecialtyÂ
- Experience with continuous ATO (cATO) processes,FedRamp, or otherrelevantcompliance pipelines Â
