What are we looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and capable Programme Director to lead the delivery of complex, bespoke capital projects, including factory fit-outs, installation of advanced automated equipment, and development of new test facilities.

This role carries accountability for project delivery and requires a structured approach and strong leadership.  The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a Project Director role managing multiple high-value projects simultaneously while aligning with broader business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multiple large-scale capital projects
• Take ownership of factory fit-out programmes, including layout strategy, infrastructure upgrades, and production readiness
• Oversee specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of automated equipment and production systems
• Deliver complex test facilities, ensuring technical robustness, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness
• Develop and control project budgets, schedules, and resource plans across multiple concurrent initiatives
• Provide direction to cross-functional project teams
• Act as the primary interface with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business priorities
• Manage external contractors, suppliers, and integrators, ensuring contractual and performance obligations are met
• Establish and enforce high standards for quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks at both project and programme level
• Drive governance, reporting, and decision-making processes at senior leadership level
• Champion continuous improvement in project delivery, standardisation, and best practices

About You

Knowledge and Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline
• Extensive experience delivering complex engineering and manufacturing capital projects
• Strong track record in factory fit-outs, automation implementation, and/or industrial facility development
• Demonstrated experience managing high-value budgets and multiple concurrent projects
• Deep understanding of project lifecycle management, including commissioning and handover
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement at senior and executive levels
• Strong commercial acumen, including contract management and cost control
• Proven leadership capability, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments
