Job Description

Purpose of Role

To plan, deliver, and assess high-quality learning experiences in English and Spanish for primary school students, fostering their academic, social, emotional, and personal development in a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, while implementing the school curriculum in alignment with the school's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in both English and Spanish, aligned with the Primary curriculum. Design and implement age-appropriate learning activities that respond to students’ individual needs, abilities, and learning styles. Create an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes students’ academic, social, emotional, and personal development. Assess and monitor students’ learning and academic progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Differentiate instruction and implement appropriate strategies to support diverse learning needs and abilities. Apply effective classroom management and positive behavior strategies. Maintain regular and professional communication with parents and guardians regarding students’ learning, progress, and wellbeing. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support teams, and other members of the school community. Participate in meetings, professional development activities, school events, and other activities as required. Follow and implement school policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety guidelines. Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and professional school culture.

Skills

Strong classroom management and instructional skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to differentiate instruction according to students’ learning needs and language proficiency. Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students, colleagues, and families. Adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous professional development. Strong commitment to student wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Primary Education, Pedagogy, Education, English Teaching, or a related field. Valid teaching certification or license, as required by local regulations. Advanced or proficient level of English. English language certification such as Cambridge, IELTS, or equivalent is preferred. Additional qualifications or training in bilingual education or language teaching are an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably at Primary School level. Demonstrated experience teaching both English and Spanish in a classroom setting. Experience planning and delivering lessons in both languages. Experience working with primary-aged students and managing a classroom effectively. Experience in bilingual or international schools is an advantage. Experience adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and language levels. Experience collaborating with teaching teams and communicating effectively with families.
