Special Education Teacher

HJ STAFFING is seeking a dedicated and compassionateSpecial Education Teacher to fill an immediate vacancy in an Elementary Life Skills classroom at Stafford Elementary School.

This role involves leading aself-contained classroom designed for students in Grades 1–5 with moderate to severe disabilities. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s unique developmental, academic, and functional life skills goals.

Location: Stafford Elementary School, 1250 Constitution Avenue, Stafford, TX 77477

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a self-contained Elementary Life Skills classroom (Grades 1–5).
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Deliver modified core curriculum content while incorporating essential life skills and behavioral strategies.
• Collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals, therapists, administrators, and parents to support holistic student growth.
• Maintain complete and accurate compliance records, progress tracking, and evaluation reports.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Special Education Certification: Valid Texas (EC–12) Special Education certification.
• Content Certification: Valid Texas Generalist or Core Subjects certification covering elementary grades 1–5.
• Proven experience working with elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and crisis-de-escalation skills.
• Ability to pass required state background checks and clearance procedures.
