Title: IT Systems Manager
Location: San Juan, PR Monday – Friday (On-site; potential for hybrid after initial performance review).

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The IT Systems Manager leads the operational performance, security, and stability of the organization's enterprise technology infrastructure. This role oversees daily systems administration, data backup/disaster recovery protocols, and network security compliance, while providing direct leadership, mentorship, and scheduling for the IT Help Desk team.
Serving as a key liaison between technical operations and executive leadership, the IT Systems Manager collaborates with client stakeholders and the IT Director to align technology capabilities with strategic business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure & Systems Administration

Oversee the deployment, configuration, routine maintenance, and updates for enterprise infrastructure, including physical/virtual servers, network architecture, telecommunications, and end-user workstations.
Help Desk Leadership & Service Management
- Direct, mentor, and schedule Help Desk personnel to maintain high service quality.
- Manage the IT ticketing platform and infrastructure monitoring tools to ensure prompt incident resolution, leveraging ITIL framework principles.
Data Protection & Disaster Recovery (DR)
- Lead data backup, retention, and restore operations across all systems.
- Partner with the IT Infrastructure team to conduct routine Disaster Recovery (DR) testing, maintain updated documentation, and execute business continuity plans.
Security & Remote Access
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies established by the IT Security team.
- Administer secure remote access protocols (VPN/MFA) and verify compliance across all endpoint devices.
Vendor & Hardware Evaluation

Research, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software acquisitions to the IT Director to optimize performance and cost-efficiency
Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Engage in internal and client stakeholder meetings to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Monitor industry trends and prepare quarterly innovation proposals for infrastructure enhancements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- ​​​ Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in server administration, systems implementation, network maintenance, and data backup operations.
- Leadership: Proven background supervising or leading Help Desk or IT support teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in server environments (Windows Server, Active Directory), networking protocols, hardware, and corporate phone systems.
- Experience implementing ITIL service principles and Change Management procedures.
- Familiarity with enterprise ticketing and monitoring systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, ConnectWise).
- Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical troubleshooting and interpersonal capabilities to navigate complex escalations and stakeholder meetings.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical/technical experience required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ required (or strongly preferred); CompTIA Network+, Security+, or ITIL Foundation certifications are a plus.
