Position: IT Applications Engineer III, Mobile (Android, Java)
Location: Atlanta, GA or Greenwood Village, CO (Remote / Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite)

Client is seeking an experiencedIT Applications Engineer III – Mobile (Android, Java) to design, develop, and maintain high-quality native Android applications.
This individual contributor role will support application engineers in building robust, scalable mobile solutions that deliver excellent user experiences for millions of Healthcare members. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, applying clean architecture principles and best practices for mobile security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintainnative Android applications usingJava andKotlin.
  • Applyclean architecture and design patterns such asMVVM for maintainability and scalability.
  • Writeautomated UI tests usingEspresso; integrate intoCI/CD pipelines for quality assurance.
  • Manageapp build and signing workflows, including provisioning profiles, certificates, entitlements, and build flavors.
  • Integratethird-party libraries and SDKs such as Firebase, analytics, and maps.
  • Consume and integrateRESTful APIs, ensuring robust authentication, caching, and error handling.
  • Collaborate withUX, Product, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless delivery of mobile features.
  • Integrate content fromAdobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other headless CMS platforms.
  • Stay current withAndroid tools, SDKs, and industry trends to ensure apps remain secure and modern.
  • Adhere tomobile security and compliance standards, ensuring protection of sensitive data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree inComputer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years programming experience inJava/Kotlin for Android.
  • 2+ years experience inautomated testing with Espresso (Android) or XCUITest (iOS).
  • 3+ years experience managingnative mobile build and signing workflows (e.g., build variants, certificates, entitlements).
  • 3+ years experience integratingthird-party SDKs or source code.
  • 3+ years experience integratingAPIs and services.
  • 2+ years experience working withCMS platforms such asAdobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • 1+ year experience developing and/or implementingmobile applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing forboth Android and iOS platforms.
  • Familiarity withCI/CD tools (Fastlane, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Understanding ofOAuth2, JWT, and mobile security practices.
  • Experience inAgile/Scrum andDevOps environments.
