Position SummaryÂ
The Irrigation Technician provides irrigation services for Sunrise Landscape’s commercial clients across private and public properties. This role combines hands-on landscaping work with irrigation maintenance responsibilities and requires the safe operation of landscaping equipment to complete daily tasks.Â
The Irrigation Technician supports irrigation installations, maintenance, and property preparation while maintaining quality standards, client satisfaction, and safe work practices. A successful Irrigation Technician brings irrigation experience, reliability, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in Florida’s outdoor conditions.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
As one of our Irrigation Technicians, you will have the following areas of responsibility:Â
Irrigation Installation & MaintenanceÂ
- Install and maintain irrigation systems, including pipe, joints, heads, and wireÂ
- Dig holes and trenches and backfill for drainage and irrigation installationsÂ
- Haul and install topsoil, greens mix, gravel, sand, grass seed, and sodÂ
Landscape Maintenance & Property PreparationÂ
- Perform planting, mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, and general garden maintenance as needed to prepare properties for turnoverÂ
- Prepare and clean job sites, removing debris and wasteÂ
- Ensure all work is completed to company quality standards and client expectationsÂ
Equipment & SafetyÂ
- Safely operate landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowersÂ
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance checks and report issuesÂ
- Always adhere to all safety protocols and regulationsÂ
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is always worn, including helmets, fall protection, ear plugs, safety glasses, and gloves to prevent injuryÂ
Teamwork & CommunicationÂ
- Communicate effectively with team membersÂ
- Support a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environmentÂ
- Deliver excellent customer service in all client interactionsÂ
Qualifications & Core CompetenciesÂ
- Minimum of 2 years of professional irrigation experience requiredÂ
- 2 Wire System knowledgeÂ
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United StatesÂ
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in Florida heatÂ
- Dependable and able to work well as part of a teamÂ
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hoursÂ
Physical RequirementsÂ
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and squat for prolonged periods throughout the dayÂ
- Ability to use hand tools for extended periods of timeÂ
- Ability to lift 30+ pounds multiple times per day in hot temperaturesÂ
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including heat, high humidity, and rainÂ
Driver QualificationsÂ
To qualify as a Driver, in addition to the above, you must:Â
- Possess a valid driver’s license issued in the United States for a minimum of three yearsÂ
- Maintain a clean driving record for at least three yearsÂ
- Successfully pass a drug screeningÂ
