Intern – Portfolio Valuation 

Interns in thePortfolioValuation Advisory group at Stout perform engagementsundervarious contexts includingportfoliovaluation,purchase price accounting, and corporate tax matters. 

Interns at Stout have the opportunity to gain client exposure and improve their technical skills while working under Stout professionals.

WhatYou’ll Do: 

• Conduct in-depth industry, market, and company research toidentify, evaluate, and support assumptions,benchmarks andconclusions; 

• Analyze and interpret complex financial statements,identifying trends, risks, and value drivers thatimpact the valuationoutcome;  

• Prepare due diligence questions and evaluate supporting documentation tovalidate financial, operational, and marketassumptions;  

• Participate in client or management meetings providing substantive input on valuation methodologies, assumptions, andconclusions;  

• Evaluate valuation inputs for debt and equity instruments, applying professionaljudgment; 

• Develop and analyze detailed financial models (Discounted Cash Flow, Guideline Public Company, and Merger and Acquisition);  

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in selectingappropriate valuation methodologies and key assumptions; and  

• Create comprehensive deliverables and supporting analysis including presentations, analysis packets, and written narratives – relied upon by our senior level professionals and delivery to our clients.  

The Intern will be part of a firm where the culture and exceptional client service is inspiredfromleadership down.  Interns also interact with senior level professionals on a regular basis.  

Qualifications/Requirements:  

• Junior pursuing a BA/BS degree. 

• Preferredcoursework inFinance,Accounting, Economics, or related discipline. 

• Minimum cumulativeG.P.A. of 3.0required; 3.5 or higher preferred. 

• Relevant internship and/or extracurricular related experiencesdemonstrating a strong interest in finance and valuation. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 

• Strong financial statement analysis and financial modeling skills. 

• Familiarity with valuation methodologies used in financial markets, including knowledge of fixed income/credit valuation techniques such as Discounted Cash FlowMethodispreferred. 

• Strong analytical, verbal, technical, and written skills withability to interpret complex financial data and synthesize findings into clear and actionableinsight.  

• Superiorcommunication and interpersonal skills,includingability to present complex information and build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. 

• Must be eligible to work in the US, without employer sponsorship, at the time ofhire and in the future.
