Role Description
The Integration Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Baghdad. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and supporting system integrations across BeePay’s electronic payment platforms, digital wallet application, card management systems, banking systems, and external service providers.
The role involves developing and maintaining secure and reliable integrations with Visa, Mastercard, payment processors, payment gateways, payment switches, banks, and third-party service providers. The Integration Engineer works with APIs, web services, databases, and integration technologies to ensure seamless communication and accurate transaction processing between interconnected systems.
The position also includes analyzing technical requirements, troubleshooting integration issues, monitoring system performance, coordinating with internal technical teams and external partners, and supporting testing, production deployment, and the launch of new electronic payment products and services. The Integration Engineer ensures that integrations comply with approved technical standards, information security requirements, and company procedures.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Integration skills for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining integrations between internal systems and external platforms.
Candidates should possess strong API Integration knowledge, including REST APIs, SOAP, Web Services, JSON, XML, and Webhooks.
Candidates should possess strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills to investigate integration failures, identify technical issues, and determine root causes.
Candidates should possess good knowledge of Electronic Payment Systems, including digital wallets, prepaid cards, POS terminals, payment gateways, payment switches, and card processing.
Candidates should possess good Database and SQL skills for querying transaction records, analyzing data, and troubleshooting integration-related issues.
Candidates should possess good knowledge of API Testing and Troubleshooting tools, such as Postman or equivalent platforms.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for coordinating with internal technical teams, banks, payment networks, processors, and external service providers.
Candidates should possess strong Technical Documentation skills for preparing API specifications, integration diagrams, test cases, configurations, and implementation records.
Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard integration requirements, card management systems, banking systems, and payment processing is highly preferred.
Good understanding of payment transaction flows, system architecture, connectivity, and data exchange mechanisms.
Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating environments is preferred.
Basic knowledge of software development, programming, and scripting is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in System Integration, Software Integration, API Integration, FinTech, Banking Technology, Payment Systems, or a similar role.
Previous experience with electronic payment platforms, digital wallets, card systems, Visa/Mastercard services, payment gateways, or payment switches is highly preferred.
Good command of written and spoken English, particularly for technical documentation and communication with external partners.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple integration projects, resolve critical production issues, and maintain a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
Design, implement, test, and support integrations between BeePay’s internal systems and external platforms.
Develop and maintain integrations related to digital wallets, Visa and Mastercard card services, payment gateways, payment switches, banks, processors, and third-party service providers.
Work with REST APIs, SOAP services, Web Services, JSON, XML, Webhooks, and other integration technologies to ensure reliable communication between systems.
Analyze API documentation, technical specifications, and integration requirements provided by banks, payment networks, vendors, and service providers.
Coordinate with relevant technical teams, Information Security, Operations, and external partners throughout integration projects.
Support integration with Visa, Mastercard, payment processors, card management systems, banking systems, and other payment networks.
Develop and execute integration test cases to validate system functionality, data exchange, transaction processing, and error handling.
Perform end-to-end integration testing and verify transaction flows before production deployment.
Investigate and troubleshoot integration issues, including API failures, connectivity problems, transaction errors, timeouts, and data-mapping discrepancies.
Monitor APIs, integration services, system logs, and transaction flows to identify technical issues and ensure service availability and reliability.
Support the integration of digital wallet services, including cash-in, cash-out, wallet transfers, bill payments, merchant payments, and card-related services.
Coordinate with external vendors, banks, payment processors, and technology partners to resolve technical integration issues and ensure timely implementation.
Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), production deployment, release activities, and post-deployment verification.
Support system configurations, integration updates, API changes, and technical enhancements in accordance with approved Change Management procedures.
Ensure integrations comply with approved Information Security requirements, data protection policies, and technical standards.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, including API specifications, integration diagrams, system configurations, test cases, implementation records, and troubleshooting procedures.
Investigate production incidents related to system integrations and coordinate timely resolution with relevant teams and external service providers.
Escalate critical integration failures, unresolved technical issues, and service disruptions to the direct supervisor in accordance with approved procedures.
Support technical investigations related to failed, declined, pending, reversed, and timed-out transactions when integration issues are suspected.
Monitor integration performance and identify opportunities to improve system reliability, efficiency, and transaction processing.
Support the technical implementation and integration of new payment products, services, and technology solutions.
Participate in project meetings, technical discussions, and implementation activities to ensure integration requirements and deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
Maintain proper records of integration incidents, technical findings, resolutions, and corrective actions.
Follow approved IT, Information Security, Incident Management, and Change Management policies and procedures.
