Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Location: Boise, ID
Work Type: Full time-Contract
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support automation and facility control systems for advanced manufacturing and industrial facilities in Boise, ID. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver process control, instrumentation, and safety system solutions across dynamic design and active construction environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design instrumentation, control, and automation systems for complex industrial environments.

  • Prepare P&IDs, control narratives, sequences of operation, wiring diagrams, and associated design documentation.

  • Perform instrument and control valve sizing and author detailed equipment data sheets.

  • Review vendor submittals and coordinate technical requirements across multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Support construction, startup, commissioning, and client technical discussions on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • 4+ years of dedicated Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineering experience.

  • Practical working knowledge of PLC and SCADA control systems, process controls, and field instrumentation.

  • Must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (now or in the future).

  • Strong written/verbal communication, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT or PE certification.

  • Experience supporting semiconductor, data center, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing facilities.

  • Familiarity with Siemens, Omron, or DeviceNet networks.

  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards including NFPA 70 and UL508A.

  • Hands-on experience with facility monitoring, toxic gas monitoring (TGMS), fire alarm, or SCADA systems.

  • Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
