Title-Inside Research Worker
Location-Johnston,IA,USA,50131
Duration- 6 months contract
Shift/Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8am -5pm (40 hrs/wk) – no overtime available
Lab Assistant
- TheTrait Transient Assay (TTA) team is responsible fordeveloping and optimizing various assay platforms to identify and characterize hits, actives, leads, and construct performance.
- As part of theAssay Developmentand Characterization team, the Lab Assistant will perform general laboratory operations tasks and provide support with experimental execution, at the direction of laboratory and/or project leads.
- Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices.
- Ability to work both independently and part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks
- Maintaining laboratory facilities and equipment in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Assist in plant assaysincludingsampling, bacterial culture maintenance, and plant care
- Working incontrolled environments (Growth Chambers) to perform various plant care tasks
- Utilize lab instruments to analyze samples and record results with attention to detail
- Perform lab duties with regard to sterile technique
- Standard lab cleaning procedures
- Plasmid isolations
- Analyze and report data associated with conducted assays
- Clear communication and strong ability to work efficiency or something along those lines
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform physical tasks
- Associate's (2-yr) required.
- New graduates with experience in a laboratory setting are encouraged to apply.
