JOB DESCRIPTION
Lead and oversee all maintenance and facilities activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the site. You will be responsible for managing preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, minimizing equipment downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and reduce costs. Working closely with senior leadership, you will support facility upgrades, capital investment projects, and site expansion plans while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Overall responsibility for coordination of maintenance activities, specifically installing, repairing, breakdown response and maintaining machinery and equipment in a safe, timely and compliant manner.
Overall responsibility for maintaining the facilities – plant security, plant safety, plant service agreements and general upkeep.
Directs team in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, ensuring that they are suitably trained and competent.
Understand Plant and Team KPIs – presents monthly performance as part of Operations Team.
Works with and supports the ManEng and Launch team in plant and system changes.
Ensures the delivery and continuous improvement of a Plant Maintenance Strategy and Plan in line with equipment and JIT plant best practices.
Responsible for ensuring that all planned work has a Safe Standard of Work (SSOW).
Owns, reviews and coordinates shutdown plans.
Manages and maintains a spares strategy.
Manage and plan resource to support the operation, ensuring that there is a balanced mix of skill and competence to support production.
Coordinates the statutory maintenance routines ensuring compliance with legislative bodies.
Work in a manner that promotes and supports Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S and Visual Management.
Management of monthly budget spend and annual capital expenditure.
Experience required:
Previous experience of supervising/managing a multi-disciplined team in a maintenance department in a fast-moving environment.
Experience working to KPIs.
Experience of contractor management.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and phneumatic systems.
Knowledge of automation systems including PLCs and Network Communication.
Strong leadership & coaching skills.
Problem-Solving skills essential e.g. lean manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of TPM & CMMS.
IT skills – working knowledge of MS-Office.
Commercial awareness of P&L.
Qualification within an Engineering discipline e.g. HNC/equivalent.
Working knowledge of Health & Safety essential. Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH).
