SUMMARY:
The SS&P Director is responsible for the sales activation and execution of the Business Unit's Annual Operating Plan (AOP), obtaining distribution goals, achieving trade budget, and ensuring that the customer voice isÂ
embedded in all internal decisions. This role serves as a strategic partner to the Business Unit and is an extension of their respective staff/team. The Director owns delivery of AOP revenue, volume, trade investments, and profitability while driving strategic alignment across customer, category, and enterprise objectives. The role also leads advanced business analytics for the Poultry Retail division.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Business Leadership & StrategyÂ
• Acts as a leading business partner for the GM’s, Sales Leaders, and SS&P VPÂ
• Guides AOP/SP development through deep knowledge of customer, category, and total poultry retailÂ
dynamicsÂ
• Owns revenue, volume, gross margin, and trade investments associated with AOPÂ
• Brings Category Leadership Platforms to life within the Business Unit and marketplaceÂ
• Develops action plans to address opportunities and risks across the expanded poultry portfolioÂ
• Acts as lead on cross-category initiatives for Strategy and PlanningÂ
Advanced Analytics & Financial OwnershipÂ
• Helps develop strategic analysis and storytelling for:Â
o Monthly Business Review (MBR)Â
o Board of Directors (BOD) materialsÂ
o Customer Net Revenue to Green WeightÂ
• Owns annual forecasts and delivery of trade, volume, Innovation NSV, and profitability metricsÂ
• Determines optimal investment strategies via customer segmentation and Revenue Growth ManagementÂ
• Partners with Trade Optimization and Strategic Pricing teams to maximize ROIÂ
• Initiates, tracks, and manages trade ROI, profitability, and field complianceÂ
Customer & Market LeadershipÂ
• Serves as the consummate voice of the customer, field, and internal business partnersÂ
• Owns final approval of 4Ps (Pricing, Product, Placement, Promotion) guidanceÂ
• Validates monthly volume consensus in partnership with Supply Planning and Brand LeadershipÂ
• Ensures strong alignment across customer strategies and enterprise prioritiesÂ
• Leads go to market strategy for Retail Poultry Innovation initiativesÂ
Cross-Functional LeadershipÂ
• Communicates business solutions, risks, and opportunities effectively to senior leadershipÂ
• Demonstrates courageous, constructive candor to balance internal and external prioritiesÂ
People LeadershipÂ
• Leads and develops a high-performing team (3-5 direct reports)Â
• Coaches and develops talent to meet evolving business needsÂ
• Builds a strong performance culture aligned with Retail Poultry growth goalsÂ
QUALIFICATIONS:Â
• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferredÂ
• Minimum 10 years of experience in sales and/or finance, category management, and/or sales planningÂ
• Strong financial acumen and strategic planning capability requiredÂ
• Experience in Customer Joint Business Planning and Revenue Growth ManagementÂ
• Proven success leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholdersÂ
• Advanced communication skills with ability to simplify complexity for senior leadersÂ
