Quality Engineer
from 🇲🇽 Mexico
If you are looking for a meaningful career where people work and act with passion, rethink the existing and always strive to find the best solution - you have come to the right place. We develop future technologies to relentlessly make supply chains better.Â
We are a leader in supply chain software solutions, helping organizations streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Software Quality EngineerÂ
Role OverviewÂ
A Quality Engineer (QE) focusing on microservices develops and maintains test automation frameworks for distributed systems. They are responsible for testing API integrations, contract testing, and implementing shift-left testing — ensuring that independent services communicate reliably, scale seamlessly, and maintain data integrity across the entire application stack.Â
Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Framework DevelopmentÂ
Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend validations using modern languages (C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript).Â
Microservices & API TestingÂ
Validate RESTful APIs, service virtualization, and integration testing across distributed services.Â
CI/CD IntegrationÂ
Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and deployment pipelines to enable continuous quality gates before production deployments.Â
Performance & ScalabilityÂ
Conduct load, stress, and endurance testing to evaluate system behaviour and bottlenecks under peak operational conditions.Â
Data ValidationÂ
Execute backend database testing (SQL and NoSQL, postgres) to ensure data integrity and proper state transitions across interconnected services.Â
Observability & MonitoringÂ
Analyze system logs, metrics, and distributed tracing to troubleshoot failures and monitor microservice health.Â
Â
Typical Day-to-DayÂ
Review user stories and write test plans before development starts.Â
Build and maintain automated regression suites in CI/CD pipelines.Â
Validate REST/OData API behavior using tools like Postman, RestSharp, or custom scripts.Â
Perform SQL queries to verify backend data state.Â
Collaborate with developers on Kubernetes-deployed services in staging/dev environments.Â
Report defects with clear reproduction steps and environment context.Â
Â
Required QualificationsÂ
Education & ExperienceÂ
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalentÂ
3–5+ years of relevant experience in software quality engineeringÂ
Programming SkillsÂ
Strong proficiency in one or more of: C#, Java, TypeScript, Python — sufficient to write production-grade automation code.Â
Architecture FamiliarityÂ
Experience developing or maintaining automated tests for web applications, APIs, services, or platform components under microservices / distributed systems architecture.Â
Experience testing Microservice APIs deployed on Kubernetes, including validation of Pod lifecycle, service endpoints, health probes, and end-to-end API behavior across distributed servicesÂ
Â
Tools & TechnologiesÂ
CategoryÂ
ToolsÂ
API / Contract TestingÂ
Postman, REST Assured, Pact, WireMockÂ
UI AutomationÂ
Playwright, Cypress, SeleniumÂ
Performance TestingÂ
Apache JMeter, k6Â
DevOps / CloudÂ
Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, Jenkins, GitHub ActionsÂ
Source Control & DevOpsÂ
Azure DevOps, Git, NPMÂ
Â
Additional ExperienceÂ
Familiarity with AI-assisted SDLC from a testing perspectiveÂ
Experience with automated UI, API, integration, performance, or regression testing frameworksÂ
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and quality gatesÂ
Knowledge of security testing concepts — authentication, authorization, roles, and permissionsÂ
Experience improving test strategy, release readiness, developer tooling, or quality processesÂ
DevOps & Version ControlÂ
ToolÂ
UsageÂ
Azure DevOpsÂ
Pipeline management, test reporting, work trackingÂ
GitÂ
Version control, branching strategies, PR workflowsÂ
Â
What a Strong Candidate Looks LikeÂ
Writes automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) as a first-class activity, not an afterthoughtÂ
Can read and contribute to production code — not just test scriptsÂ
Understands API contracts and validates behavior at the service boundaryÂ
Thinks in terms of test coverage across layers — DB → API → UIÂ
Champions shift-left testing — quality starts at requirements, not after developmentÂ
Comfortable working across cloud-native, containerized environmentsÂ
