Role Overview
The Data Product Owner acts as the key liaison between client stakeholders and delivery teams on data programmes/projects, ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined, prioritised, and delivered in alignment with Agile delivery principles. This role blends analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on collaboration within a data and analytics-focused development team and client.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements Management
Write detaileduser stories andacceptance criteria bybreaking down Epicsfor integration and reporting use cases.
Leadfeature / data product kickoffs to ensure business context and delivery alignment.
Facilitateestimation sessions andstory readiness to support sprint planning.
Collaborate closely with developers and testers to validate “done” stories and ensure Clientsign-off.
Partner with technical leads, client SMEs to ensure requirements are accurate, complete, and technically feasible.
Backlog Management
Support the Client in managing and prioritizing theproduct backlog to ensure alignment with business goals.
Conductbacklog refinement sessions with the team to clarify requirements, dependencies, and priorities.
Ensure stories meet the team’sdefinition of ready before sprint planning.
Track and communicate backlog health and sprint progress through Agile tools (e.g.,Jira).
Identify and escalate risks or blockers impacting backlog items or delivery flow.
Maintain visibility of dependencies and ensure alignment between epics, features, and stories.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as theliaison between client stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring clear communication of needs and priorities.
Support stakeholder alignment andfacilitate sign-offs at key delivery stages.
Work collaboratively with Account Managers, Program and Project Managers, Tech Leads, Developers and Testers to address client pain points and deliver outcomes.
Data Analysis
Supportdata product to data source mapping activities and maintain alignment with the data catalogue.
Create and reviewtarget-to-source field mappings for individual data products.
Understand and articulatedata reconciliation, data quality (DQ), and transformation rules within the medallion architecture for individual data products.
Agile Process Support
FacilitateAgile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and show & tell sessions.
Supportstory validation and sign-off activities during sprints.
Maintain and communicatedelivery roadmaps on Jira or similar tools.
Contribute tocontinuous improvement discussions and team retrospectives to enhance delivery health.
Reporting and Success Metrics
Track and reportteam health metrics through retrospectives and delivery KPIs.
Produceend-of-sprint reports summarizing story progress, carried-over items, and upcoming priorities.
Support automated reporting and ensure client transparency on progress and blockers.
Account Growth Support
Collaborate with account and delivery leadership (PO, Program/Project Manager, Account Manager, Tech Lead) as part of theAccount Leadership Team (CAT).
Provide analytical insights intoclient pain points and support identification of improvement or growth opportunities.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst in Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban) for 10+ years
Skilled in user story writing, backlog management, and stakeholder facilitation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to connect business and technical contexts.
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Agile reporting tools.
Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
Strong experience in data and analytics projects, including data lineage, transformation, and quality.
Travel requirements for this role are mandated by the need of the client and depending on the client some travel is required.
Excellent knowledge of SQL
Exposure to BI/reporting and DWH integration use cases
Understanding of the medallion data architecture and / or modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake).
Experience working in technology consultancy or data transformation programs.

Technical interview with Head of Data Products + Senior DPO: 75 minutes
