Transition Management Engineering Lead, VP - State Street Investment Management

Role Overview

State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”, formerly State Street Global Advisors) is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead thedesign, delivery, and production support of the Transition Management (TM) & Trading technology platform.

This role will be accountable forend-to-end platform ownership, ensuringhigh availability, scalability, and operational resilience, while enabling efficient execution of Transition Management workflows across asset classes.

You will partner closely with business leadership, product teams, and global engineering functions todrive platform modernization, reduce operational risk, and improve execution outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Leadership & Strategy

• Own theend-to-end Transition Management technology platform, covering execution, workflow orchestration, and post-trade processes.
• Define and execute theplatform roadmap, aligned to business growth, scale, and operational efficiency goals.
• Drivemodernization towards cloud-native, API-first architectures, improving agility and interoperability.
• Driveproactive monitoring, observability, and automation to minimize production incidents and manual interventions.

Transition Management Engineering

• Deliver and enhancecore TM capabilities, including trade execution, cost modelling, analytics, and reporting.
• Support multi-asset workflows (Equity, Fixed Income, FX, derivatives) withhigh-performance, scalable systems.
• Partner with business stakeholders to improveexecution efficiency, cost transparency, and client outcomes.
• Ensure adherence tooperational risk, controls, and compliance standards.

Transformation & Automation

• Driveautomation of manual TM workflows, reducing operational risk and increasing throughput.
• Leveragedata platforms and advanced analytics to improve decision support and execution quality.
• Champion adoption ofemerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) where it drives measurable business value.

Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and mentor ahigh-performing global engineering & analyst team.
• Build a culture ofaccountability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Managedelivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

• Establishclear KPIs across platform performance, stability, and business outcomes.
• Providetransparent reporting to senior leadership (CIO/COO level) on platform health and risks.
• Manage key vendor relationships and ensureservice quality and integration performance.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience infront-office technology and trading platforms.
• Proven leadership inmission-critical platform engineering and operations within asset management or investment banking.
• Strong understanding ofTrading workflows and execution processes.
• Experience drivingplatform reliability, scalability, and operational risk reduction.
• Expertise incloud platforms, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability to leadglobal teams and cross-functional delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supportingTrading and Transition Management platforms.
• Strong background inobservability, SRE, and platform engineering models.
• Familiarity withdata platforms, analytics, and automation frameworks.
• Advanced degree (MBA, MS, CFA, or equivalent) preferred.
