Director, Business Development - Real World Evidence

Location: East Coast or Midwest (Remote)

Overview

IQVIA is seeking aBusiness Development Director to drive growth across ourReal World Evidence (RWE) portfolio, supporting a broad set of solutions including data-driven studies (safety, epidemiology, HEOR, evidence generation, patient-centered solutions, and retrospective/post-marketing studies).

This is ahigh-impact, client-facing sales role focused on theLarge Pharma segment in the U.S., responsible for securing new business and expanding strategic accounts. The role carries a definedTotal Contract Value (TCV) target and is critical to achieving our commercial objectives.
 

The successful candidate will operate in ahighly consultative environment, partnering across IQVIA with subject matter experts, data partners, AI/data science teams, and senior business leaders to deliver differentiated RWE solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drivenew business development and revenue growth across IQVIA’s RWE offerings within Large Pharma accounts
  • Build and maintainsenior-level relationships with decision-makers and influencers across client organizations
  • Develop and executeaccount-specific sales strategies, aligned to client priorities and IQVIA capabilities
  • Partner cross-functionally withSMEs, data science, product, and delivery teams to shape compelling, client-specific solutions
  • Leadend-to-end sales cycles, including opportunity identification, solution positioning, proposal development, and contract closure
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to deliver effectivesales presentations and client engagements
  • Maintain strong awareness ofmarket dynamics, competitive positioning, and customer needs
  • Serve as atrusted advisor and liaison between clients and IQVIA delivery teams
  • Manage pipeline activity and track progress through CRM systems; deliver accurate forecasting and reporting
  • Represent IQVIA inindustry engagements, including executive client meetings, conferences, and events (e.g., RWE Connect)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required (Business, Life Sciences, or related field)
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including:
    • Significantbusiness development/sales experience
    • Experience withinCRO, pharmaceutical, or life sciences services
  • Proven track record of selling intolarge pharmaceutical clients, including executive-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success managingcomplex, consultative sales cycles and achieving revenue targets
  • Strong understanding ofdrug development, commercialization, and real-world data applications

Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience sellingReal World Evidence (RWE), HEOR, or data-driven solutions
  • Experience working withAI/data science-led offerings or advanced analytics solutions
  • Established network withinLarge Pharma organizations in the U.S.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $111,200.00 - $309,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
