SUMMARY

The Photo Retoucher creates, designs and assists all company designers with photography retouching maintaining integrity of predetermined photo style and brand essence. May assist in estimating retouching costs, overseeing work done by external suppliers, and preparing proofs for review by packaging and marketing creative teams. This role has knowledge of commonly used techniques, best practices, and procedures within the retouching field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Familiar with 3d rendering software, could produce simple rendering images and videos. Works under immediate supervision of the Manager, Photography.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for commercial image retouching and post-production, including product retouching and AI-generated scene image compositing and optimization.
• Perform basic color correction, blemish removal, lighting adjustments, contrast optimization, background editing, and image compositing.
• Ensure image consistency and natural visual quality according to brand visual standards, while meeting the needs of different channels such as e-commerce platforms, official websites, and social media.
• Understand issues in raw photography files and make appropriate post-production improvements, such as exposure correction, color cast adjustment, material/textural enhancement, and composition refinement.
• Communicate with photographers, project owners, and overseas teams to accurately understand retouching requirements and deliver work on time.
• Participate in retouching workflow optimization, including organizing retouching guidelines, reference cases, and related documentation.
• Revise images based on feedback, and manage priorities and delivery timelines effectively in a multi-tasking environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Around 5 years of experience in commercial retouching; experience in e-commerce, branding, advertising, photography studios, or design teams is preferred.
• Proficient in Photoshop, with strong knowledge of commercial retouching workflows, including color correction, high-end retouching, clipping/masking, compositing, lighting enhancement, and material/textural optimization.
• Strong aesthetic sense, with good control of color, lighting, texture, composition, and details.
• Basic photography knowledge, including lighting, exposure, lenses, composition, and shooting workflows; able to identify issues in original images and propose post-production solutions.
• Able to maintain image style consistency according to brand identity, with a strong awareness of visual consistency.
• Basic English reading and writing skills; able to read English requirements, emails, or project briefs, and communicate in simple written English.
• Detail-oriented and responsible, with good time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work within a fast-paced project delivery schedule.

EDUCATION & SKILLS

• BFA in Graphic Design (or related field)
• Expert in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge (5+ years).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Detail-oriented dialogue about the properties of a given image is a must.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must have the ability to work effectively in fast-paced high-energy creative group.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Professional level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

• This role will be required to travel to and from set locally on occasion and may be required to work on locations.
