Software Development Engineer

Adobe Analyticspowers data-driven decision making for many global enterprises. The platform enables organizations to collect, process, and analyze customer interaction data across digital channels.

TheCustomer Journey Analytics (CJA) Stitching team builds the systems that unify and process data from multiple sources to create consistent, real-time customer journeys.
The platform coordinates data ingestion, identity stitching, and analytics processing across multiple data sources. The system processes customer interaction data and transforms it into unified analytics datasets used across Adobe Experience Cloud.

As aSenior Backend Engineer, you will design and evolve the distributed systems and data pipelines that power these capabilities.

What You’ll Work On

• Design and builddata processing pipelines usingJava / Scala and Spark

• Develop systems responsible forcustomer identity stitching and data aggregation

• Design and optimizedistributed data processing workflows

• Contribute toarchitecture and system design decisions

• Improve pipelinereliability, observability, and performance

• Work withmulti-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools

• Own servicesthrough the full lifecycle — from design and implementation to production operations

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams acrossAdobe Analytics

Technology Stack

• Java / JVM ecosystem

• Scala and Apache Spark

• Databricks

• Kafka and distributed data pipelines

• Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Observability tools such asDatadog, Prometheus, and Grafana

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of backend or data platform engineering experience

• Strong expertise inJava or Scala

• Experience buildingdistributed systems or data processing pipelines

• Experience withSpark or large-scale data processing frameworks

• Experience working withcloud infrastructure

• Strong understanding ofsystem reliability, performance, and observability

Nice to Have

• Experience withKafka or event-driven architectures

• Experience withmodern data platforms (Iceberg, Hadoop ecosystem, etc.)

• Experience working withDatabricks

• Experience contributing toarchitecture decisions and mentoring engineers
