What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Manager, Member Engagement, leads the design and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance member promotions and program operations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to align business plans with organizational goals, driving continuous improvement through data analysis and stakeholder collaboration. Responsible for managing complex projects, overseeing 3rd party partner relationships, and mentoring associates, the position ensures effective communication and resource allocation. The Senior Manager fosters a culture of accountability and integrity while advancing business objectives that deliver value and a superior member experience.
About the team:
The Membership Partnerships team drives scalable growth by establishing strategic partnerships that connect Sam’s Club with new audiences and acquisition channels. Operating at the intersection of business development, sales, commercial strategy, and customer acquisition, the team identifies partners, negotiates agreements, and launches programs to deliver meaningful membership growth. With an entrepreneurial mindset, the team moves swiftly, embraces ambiguity, and proactively creates opportunities. Their efforts establish partnerships as a significant acquisition channel, contributing hundreds of thousands of new members and long-term value for Sam’s Club.
What you'll do:
• Own strategic relationships across priority partners, building senior level engagement and strengthening long term value. • Develop and execute partner growth strategies focused on membership acquisition, economics, Plus mix, and broader expansion opportunities. • Manage partner performance, business reviews, risks, and forward looking plans while identifying opportunities to deepen existing relationships. • Lead selective business development and own opportunities from concept through negotiation, contracting, launch, and optimization. • Serve as a senior thought partner on portfolio strategy and provide day to day coaching and guidance to junior team members across partner management, analysis, communication, and business development.
What you'll bring:
• Proven experience managing and growing strategic partnerships, with the ability to build trusted relationships across senior internal and external stakeholders. • Strong commercial and strategic acumen, including evaluating partner economics, identifying growth opportunities, and developing plans that drive measurable business outcomes. • Demonstrated business development capability, including identifying, negotiating, and launching high value partnership opportunities. • Excellent cross functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and navigate Legal, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Operations. • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members while creating clear accountability, ownership, and growth opportunities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
