Job Objective:The human resources assistant is responsible for facilitating HR processes, communicating employees, and representing CCWV in staff matters. The human resources assistant must be able to work with minimal instruction or supervision. Oversees the Service Excellence Initiative.
Position Responsibilities/ Essential Duties:
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Coordinates pre-employment drug testing, education verifications and criminal background checks with hiring supervisors.
- Performs new hire packet audits. Communicates with hiring supervisor on missing or incomplete new hire packets. Ensures all missing or incomplete information is received in a timely manner.
- Reports new hires to proper organizations and within established timeframes.
- Distributes computer based learning training to active employees and monitor completion of training requirements. Ensure that employees complete required training per established schedule.
- Conducts audits in CCWV policy attestation and sends out reminders to those out with outstanding attestations on record.
- Makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical activities.
- Perform employee termination functions such as inactivating usernames and passwords, collecting CCWV property, cancel employee benefits, generate exit interview forms, etc.
- Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Completes projects in accordance with established time frames and standards.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Serves on the organization’s Safety and Risk Assessment Committee.
- Participate in staff development programs and staff meetings.
- Schedules staff development programs and staff meetings, including the Service Excellence Initiative.
Teamwork:
- Assist in the orientation/training of new staff members.
- Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow staff.
- Assist other staff in the performance of their assignments.
- Seek out opportunities to help rather than waiting to be asked.
- Take direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties.
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary within the organization.
Problem Solving:
- Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
- Investigate and follow through on unusual orders or requests for service or information.
- Follow proper reporting procedures for actual or potential accidents and/or incidents so follow-up and/or prevention can occur.
- Record/report the need for service maintenance or repair of equipment and remove any faulty equipment from service.
- Consistently evaluate work and determine if further steps are needed to meet expectations.
- Take initiative to do or redo inadequate or incomplete work, even if it is not yours.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Productivity/ Efficiency:
- Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
- Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs (education, organizing, housekeeping, assisting others).
- Organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
- Consistently demonstrate ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choiceswithout direct supervision.
Adherence to Departmental Policies:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to reference them from appropriate books and manuals.
- Comply with CCWV's infection control policies and procedures such as the Exposure Control Plan which reflects OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate strong presentation skills
- The ability to work in an organized and efficient fashion
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Good analytical skills
- The ability to identify problems and evaluate resolutions for a positive outcome
- Good decision-making ability and judgment
- Discretion and confidentiality are crucial
