Job Description:
Hitachi Rail GTS USA Inc. is seeking an experienced and visionary executive to lead strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence within our USA operations. This role will contribute significantly to the growth and success of our organization, ensuring alignment with global objectives and fostering innovation in the rail transport sector.
Responsibilities:**
* Develop and execute strategic plans for Hitachi Rail GTS USA Inc. in alignment with global corporate objectives and market demands.
* Oversee all operational aspects of the USA business unit, including project delivery, engineering, sales, finance, and human resources.
* Drive business development activities, identify new market opportunities, and secure key contracts to expand Hitachi Rail's presence in the USA.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, clients, partners, and industry associations.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing executive team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility, to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
* Represent Hitachi Rail GTS USA Inc. at industry events, conferences, and public forums, enhancing the company's brand and reputation.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with business operations, market dynamics, and technological advancements.
* Drive digital transformation initiatives and implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
* Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in the rail, transportation, infrastructure, or a closely related heavy industrial sector, with at least 8 years at an executive level.
* Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects, complex operations, and significant P&L responsibility.
* Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, business development, and market expansion within the USA.
* Strong understanding of the North American rail industry, including regulatory frameworks, market trends, and competitive landscape.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and integration processes is a plus.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the USA and internationally as required.
