The opportunity:

We are seeking a Primary Engineer for GIS Offer Engineering to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED. This role involves developing and optimizing Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) offerings, focusing on technical design, cost optimization, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

How you’ll make an impact:

* Lead the technical design and engineering of GIS solutions for various applications, including substations and grid connections.
* Develop and maintain technical specifications, Bills of Material (BOMs), and engineering drawings for GIS products.
* Collaborate with sales, product management, and research & development teams to define new GIS offerings and improve existing ones.
* Perform cost analysis and optimization activities for GIS components and overall system configurations.
* Conduct technical reviews and provide expert support during the proposal and tender phases.
* Ensure compliance with relevant international and national standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI) and internal quality processes.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams.
* Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance GIS performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
* Participate in customer meetings and presentations to articulate technical solutions and address inquiries.
* Support the creation of technical documentation, including manuals, guides, and training materials.

* Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in GIS design, engineering, or offer management within the power transmission and distribution industry.
* In-depth knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear technology, including components, principles of operation, and application.
* Strong understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC 62271 series).
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.
* Experience with cost analysis and value engineering principles.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a global and multicultural team environment.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
* Experience with power system studies and simulations is a plus.
