The opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as a Operations Director and play a key role in driving performance, innovation, and operational excellence in transformer production. This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do.

In this role, you will oversee end-to-end operations within the production facility, ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery while meeting customer expectations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and EHS to optimize performance and deliver results that matter.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations aligned with the ITM Management System

  • Ensure delivery targets are met across safety, quality, and production goals

  • Optimize use of labor, equipment, and materials

  • Drive a zero-incident safety culture and promote HOP principles

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and A3

  • Enhance operational performance, including productivity, throughput, and OEE

  • Partner cross-functionally to meet customer and compliance requirements

  • Build and develop high-performing teams through coaching and accountability

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

  • 12–16 years of relevant manufacturing or operations experience

  • Experience leading teams in a production environment

  • Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement

  • Knowledge of quality and safety standards (IEEE, UL, CSA, ISO)

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
