ORGANIZATIONAL IMPERATIVE:
Department Managers primarily perform supervisory and other management responsibilities. Department Managers are the primary decision makersregarding the distribution of unloading assignments to unloaders and the coordination of unloading activities through the direction of leads and backup leads. They manage and have ultimate responsibility for theaccurate andtimely completion of administrative paperwork for reporting daily activity to the corporate office. The Department Manager is responsibleto ensure compliance with all FHI policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directsassociates to perform operations safely and efficiently.
Utilizes dailyhuddles with Associates to ensure operating procedures and assignments are communicated properly.
Coordinates work assignments and ensures assignments arecompleted timely.
Communicates with associates, host management, transportation partners, and FHIleadership to ensure performance standards and safety goals areaccomplished.
Responsible for hiring, promotions, and terminations of associates.
Implements changes for performance improvement.
Maintains safety mindset through daily safety inspections, adherence to safety policies,EHS Safety Audits,reportingpotential safety threats; works withleadership to remedy threatening situations.
Guarantee safeguard measures are being adhered tomaintain cleanliness and a debris free work area.
Mentors and trains of new associates, subordinate team members (succession plan)
Performs load verification foraccuracy
Ensure Time Keeping(Kronos) Policies and procedures are enforced and adhered to. Performs timekeeping audits. Approves time.
Accountable for successful completion of load assignments daily
Duties,responsibilities and activities may change at any time at the discretion of management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Warehouse work environment with varying temperatures, at both hot and cold extremes
Must be able to lift cases by hand weighing from 25 to 95 pounds, occasionally
Must be able tooperate warehouse/material moving equipment
Ability to lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squatoccasionally.
Use of standard office equipment in typical office environment/conditions.
Ability to use close and distance vision to focus on computer screen for the majority of the workday.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
We believe that skills and experience are what truly matter. While education can bea valuable asset, it is not a strict requirement for success in this role.
Experience:
Experience receiving or unloading in a warehouse or distribution setting
1+years of leadership experience, preferred
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge oflogistics, preferred
Ability to speak and write English for effective communication
Basic math skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow directions
Leadership skills and ability to supervise people and production effectively
Must have valid driver’s license and pass background check
