Job Title: Systems Accountant - Contract

Department: Non-Technical

Location: Lagos.

Directly Reports to: Lead Accountant – Payables, Inventory & Finance Controls.

Indirectly Reports to: AGM - Finance

JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Accountant is responsible for administering finance systems, supporting period-end accounting activities, maintaining master data, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial system integrations.

ERP Access and User Support

• Oversee ERP system access management and maintain user profiles.
• Train and support new and existing users on financial systems and procedures.

Period Close and System Integration

• Support HEOSL’s period-close accounting processes, including period opening and closing, monthly exchange-rate uploads, and revaluation activities.
• Manage the SAP B1–Sun Systems integration and ensure data accuracy and completeness on a daily basis and at month-end.

Master Data, Budgets, and System Improvements

• Manage master data creation, amendment, and deletion for vendors, debtors, inventory, general ledger, UAP, locations, and related records.
• Coordinate system upgrades, budget loading, and budget updates.

Troubleshoot and resolve accounting-system issues to support smooth finance operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Oversee the company’s ERP systems access management and user profile maintenance
2. Plays a pivotal role in HEOSL’s period close accounting processes such as period opening and closing, monthly exchange rate loading, revaluation process, etc.
3. Manage the SAP B1 – Sun systems integration, data accuracy and completeness daily and at month ends
4. Master data management for Account creation, amendment, and deletion involving vendors, debtors, inventory, general ledger, UAP, Location etc.
5. Managing system upgrades
6. Budget loading and updates
7. Troubleshooting and fixing accounting system related issues
8. Training and supporting new and existing users in the use of financial systems and procedures
   

QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.
• Excellent financial skills using tools such as Excel.
• SAP B1, SUN System experience
• Proficient in financial accounting principles and practices.
