Sr. Cash Application Specialist
Key Responsibilities
• Act as senior operational expert and escalation point for complex or mismatched customer payments.
• Resolve unidentified, short, and over-payments, including root-cause analysis.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of cash application and related controls.
• Support automation initiatives (e.g., GetPaid, TMS) through testing, stabilization, and process documentation.
• Maintain and update SOPs and control documentation within existing frameworks.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, knowledge sharing, and quality review support to Specialists and Juniors.
• Partner with AR, Collections, Treasury, and Accounting to ensure clean AR.
Key Tasks:
• Resolution of complex exceptions and unidentified cash (30%)
• Review and quality assurance of team output and escalations (20%)
• Support to automation initiatives, testing, and documentation (20%)
• Cross-functional coordination and issue resolution (15%)
• Coaching, guidance, and knowledge sharing (15%)
Key Success Areas
• Reduction in unidentified and long-aged unapplied cash.
• Accuracy and timeliness of cash application outcomes.
• Stability and adherence of processes post automation changes.
• Quality metrics and reduction in repeat issues or rework.
Required education, experience and job-related skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in Cash Application / AR operations.
• Strong understanding of OTC processes, bank reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and cash application tools (GetPaid preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation.
