About Heirloom

Heirloom helps familiesrescue, organize, and enjoy their most meaningful memories—digitizing tapes, film, and photos into a private, secure home for stories. We’re building delightful mobile and web experiences that make sharing memories simple, safe, and emotionally resonant.

The Role

We’re looking for aproduct-minded UI/UX Designer with deepFigma expertise to own end-to-end design for bothmobile (iOS/Android) andweb. You’ll shape flows (onboarding, upload, sharing, viewing, billing), craft a modern design system, and partner closely with product, engineering, and leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Design end-to-end product experiences for mobile and web: flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and clickable prototypes in Figma.
  • Build and maintain a design system (components, variants, auto-layout, tokens) for speed and consistency.
  • Prototype and validate: run quick tests, incorporate feedback, and iterate with data.
  • Partner with engineering: deliver clean specs via Figma Dev Mode, redlines, and handoff notes; support implementation and QA.
  • Elevate accessibility (contrast, type, color, motion, focus states) and responsive behavior.
  • Tell the story: document decisions, present work to stakeholders, and advocate for the customer.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–6+ years designingmobile and web apps inFigma (agency or product).
  • Astrong portfolio with at leastone mobile app andone web app case study showing problem framing, options explored, and final impact.
  • Mastery ofFigma: components/variants, auto-layout, variables/tokens, interactive prototypes, FigJam.
  • Solid grasp ofproduct thinking (prioritizing flows that move core KPIs like activation, upload success, sharing).
  • Experience collaborating with engineers (design specs, dev handoff, feasibility).
  • Working knowledge ofplatform patterns (iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design) and responsive web.
  • Care foraccessibility andperformance-aware design.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity withmedia management UX (galleries, viewers, timelines, reels).
  • Comfort withdesign tokens / theming and basic front-end concepts (Tailwind/CSS, React patterns).
  • Experience inconsumer subscriptions, onboarding, and payments.
  • Interest inprivacy-first andtrust-centric design.

How We Work

  • Flexible hours with core overlap for collaboration.
  • Remote-friendly, with preference forhybrid collaboration in Charleston, SC (work sessions with leadership, user tests, occasional shoots).
  • We welcome contractors, part-time, or full-time;contract-to-hire is an option.Equity available for the right fit.
