Job Title: Healthcare Systems Analyst / Health IT Analyst
Location: North Carolina / Remote
Work Type: Contract
Duration: 9 months with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and support technical infrastructure for HIEA and SAS platforms, ensuring availability, stability, security, and performance.
Support and monitor healthcare data exchange systems, applications, interfaces, and integration processes.
Work with healthcare organizations and EHR vendors to implement, troubleshoot, and improve data integrations.
Manage and coordinate change orders, bug fixes, enhancements, and updates for the HealthConnex Clinical Portal.
Develop complex SQL and SAS queries for data analysis, validation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Use InterSystems HealthShare tools to support healthcare data exchange, integration, analysis, and outbound data services.
Validate data extracts and investigate data quality, completeness, accuracy, and transformation issues.
Monitor and troubleshoot ETL/ELT job streams, data transformation processes, and load failures.
Develop business analysis reports based on internal and external data requirements.
Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) using SQL, SAS, and healthcare data platforms.
Support analytic and outbound data services, including data extraction and transformation activities.
Lead technical analysis and troubleshooting efforts related to EHR systems and healthcare data integration.
Analyze data flow, interfaces, mappings, transformations, and integration dependencies.
Collaborate with data architects, developers, analysts, infrastructure teams, EHR vendors, and clinical stakeholders.
Identify and resolve data quality, integration, performance, and application issues.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, data-flow documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
Participate in testing, validation, implementation, and production support activities.
Assist with system enhancements, upgrades, and operational improvements.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Healthcare IT, Healthcare Systems Analysis, EHR, or Health Information Exchange environments.
Strong understanding of EHR systems and healthcare data integration methodologies.
Hands-on experience with SQL for complex querying, data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
Experience with SAS for data analysis, reporting, or statistical processing.
Experience with InterSystems HealthShare or similar healthcare interoperability platforms.
Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Experience validating healthcare data extracts and troubleshooting data-quality issues.
Experience working with healthcare interfaces and data exchange technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex healthcare data and identify discrepancies or integration issues.
Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Health Information Exchange (HIE) environments.
Experience with HealthConnex or similar statewide HIE platforms.
Experience working with EHR vendors such as Epic, Cerner/Oracle Health, MEDITECH, or similar systems.
Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD/C-CDA, and Direct messaging.
Experience with healthcare data warehouses and clinical data models.
Experience with SAS programming and reporting.
Experience supporting production healthcare integration environments.
Knowledge of data governance, healthcare data quality, and regulatory requirements.
Experience working with state government or public-sector healthcare programs.
