As a Field Engineer I, supporting offshore operations in Guyana, you will serve as a key interface between Baker Hughes field operations, offshore crews, and customers. This position supports the organization's technical talent pipeline and succession strategy while providing exposure to offshore operations, customer environments, laboratories, subject matter experts, and research and development resources. Approximately 60% of the role is office and customer-facing work, with 40% dedicated to offshore operations. Offshore assignments are a significant component of this position and may involve extended deployments based on business and customer requirements.
As aField Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating with crew members to deploy tools and services while serving as a liaison between customers and shore-based Operations Managers.
- Participating in identifying and solving complex technical challenges through hands-on field and offshore work.
- Preparing, documenting, receiving, and shipping equipment and products to and from offshore worksites.
- Supporting tender preparation, data analysis, cost estimation, and invoicing activities.
- Building strong technical and customer relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
- Supporting offshore projects and extended field assignments as business requirements dictate.
- Collaborating with customer sites, field operations teams, laboratories, subject matter experts, and R&D resources to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Engaging in job shadowing and development opportunities to gain a broad understanding of Baker Hughes operations.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline such as Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geology, Geosciences, or a related technical field.
- Be an early-career professional or recent graduate interested in developing a career in offshore operations and energy technology.
- Have 0 to 5 years of related engineering, technical, internship, co-op, or field experience.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in offshore work and field operations.
- Possess excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Show learning agility, coachability, and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
- Be willing to relocate to Guyana for a minimum of two years.
- Be legally authorized to work in Guyana or otherwise meet applicable employment requirements.

- Position based inGuyana.
- Approximately 60% of work time will be spent in Baker Hughes offices and customer office environments.
- Approximately 40% of work time will be spent supporting offshore operations.
- Offshore assignments may range from approximately 5 days to 28 consecutive days depending on operational requirements.
- Extended offshore deployments of up to 28 days are common within Guyana operations.
- This is not a fixed rotational schedule. Offshore assignments are driven by customer and business needs.
- Following offshore assignments, employees may spend extended periods supporting customers from office locations before returning offshore.
