Your Opportunity:

The Herff Jones Cap & Gown team, based in Indianapolis, IN, is looking for a Distribution Supervisor to join our leadership team.

The goal of the Distribution Supervisor is to challenge and support all team members as we strive toward our overall mission to be the 'company of choice' for the graduation apparel markets while also meeting annual financial goals of the plant and company.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH:

• Lead daily warehouse operations, staffing, and production activities to meet quality, efficiency, and delivery goals
• Manage, coach, and develop team members through regular communication, performance feedback, and succession planning
• Monitor production schedules, inventory, budgets, and operational metrics, addressing issues and communicating updates to leadership
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and overall operations
• Support hiring, employee relations, performance reviews, timekeeping, and other people-management responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and employment regulations
• Perform other leadership duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the table includes but not limited to:

• Warehouse leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate teams
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of shipping carriers and warehouse operations
• English proficiency; bilingual Spanish preferred
• Bachelor’s degree and Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
• Flexibility to work additional hours as business needs require

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting
• Reading, communication, simple math
• Standing and walking across warehouse floors for 10+ hour shifts
• Sitting at a desk and typing
• Be able to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above moderate
