The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, has an exciting full time opportunity for an Ophthalmic Imager 1 at UHealth SoLe Miami in Aventura.

The Ophthalmic Imager 1 understands the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The Ophthalmic Imager 1 documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialty specific imaging instruments, document procedures, and upload images in the electronic medical record.

• Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography, optical coherence tomography, automated perimetry, slit lamp photography, external photography, and ocular motility photography.

• Provides patient-centric care.

• Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.

• Follows best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control.

• Completes University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training.

• Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.

• Participates in assigned clinical research and maintains required certifications.

• Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness.

• Meets daily productivity goals.

• Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.

• Organizes and stocks rooms for daily clinical activities.

• Performs organization duties as designated.

• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

BLS (Basic Life Support( certificate from the American Heart Association
