CMM Programmer

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

·      The CMM Programmer provides support for the inspection strategy associated with CMM equipment and programming.

·      Interpret drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) to identify product inspection requirements.

·      Procure, operate, troubleshoot, maintain and train others on all test equipment for supplied parts.

·      Procure, write and edit CMM programs.

·      Serve as technical expert for CMM inspection.

·      Facilitate, encourage and coordinate continuous improvement with respect to CMM activities.

·      Support calibration of all measurements and test equipment for Receiving Inspection.

·      Set-up data collection parameters for CMM measurements.

·      Review, summarize, and analyze data from measurement systems.

·      Generate the inspection reports.

·      Perform and coordinate 1st article inspection of newly developed products.

·      Inspect complex machined fixtures, and parts using advanced measuring and layout instruments and equipment.

·      Explanation/training into measurements and drawing description

·      Cooperation with production, development departments, and suppliers in the field of measurements methods and CMM fixture design.

·      Perform Inspections and verify receiving inspection measurements.

·      Create programs for Instron and other testing equipment.

·      Participate in design reviews on cross-functional teams to ensure that conformance to specifications, inspect ability, reliability, and quality system objectives are met.

·      Assist engineers with qualification and validation of new or changed tooling or parts.

·      Analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, and processing procedures.

·      Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications.

·      Perform all other duties as assigned

Your profile

·      High-School Diploma - Required

·      Two-Year College (Technical Degree) – Preferred

·      0-2 Years Experience (Microsoft Office Software) - Required

·      Proficient in writing and editing CMM programs

·      Proficient in set-up and operation of CMM’s

·      Proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and the application of GD&T

·      Proficient in blueprint reading

·      Knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and tools used to determine product acceptance.

·      Must have knowledge of the Metric and English System

·      Knowledge and understanding of statistical methods

·      Must have knowledge of SAP functions and basic knowledge of SPC

·      Ability to follow written procedures with extreme accuracy

·      Should be able to communicate with associates and management successfully

·      Willing to flex working hours based on calibration requirements

·      Able to work with little supervision and minimal direction.

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

·       The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).

·       40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).

·       12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
