Position Summary
Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Major Incident Response Technician to provide support in the Major Incident Response Cyber Support Center. The role involves full lifecycle incident management, including identification, triage, coordination, communication, and problem resolution of major IT incidents within a Department of Defense environment. This is a full-time onsite position at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, Maryland, including ad-hoc telework.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and classify major IT incidents and events using data from various AFNCR work centers and monitoring tools.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for triaging newly identified issues and orchestrate swift and effective responses by engaging necessary internal and external resolution teams.
- Establish and facilitate troubleshooting conference bridges to ensure seamless coordination between technical teams.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including government leadership, providing timely status updates from inception to resolution.
- Maintain comprehensive situational awareness of incident status and operational impact, disseminating critical information through appropriate government communication and command structures.
- Drive the investigation and resolution process for all incidents, collaborating with the problem management team to perform root cause analysis and track corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide phone and in-person support to users for e-mail, directories, standard Windows desktop applications, and contract-developed applications.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting hardware/software PC and printer problems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of work experience within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- Strong foundational understanding of network equipment, architecture, and capabilities.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with proven ability to brief stakeholders and articulate complex technical situations clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and perform decisively under pressure in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Must hold a valid CompTIA Security+ certification.
- Minimum of five years experience, with at least three years specialized experience including knowledge of PC operating systems (DOS, Windows), networking, mail standards, and help desk work.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and a positive customer service attitude.
- General experience includes information systems development and other work in the client/server field, or related fields.
- Work the on-site swing shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. Complete an initial mandatory 30-day on-site training period on the day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, before transitioning to the swing shift.

Required Education and Experience Equivalency
- Associate degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance or an applicable training certificate from an accredited training institution with minimum five years experience, with at least three years specialized experience.
- Bachelor's degree in the above subjects with four years general experience, of which at least two years must be specialized experience.
- No degree with eight years general experience, of which at least six years is specialized experience.
Required Certifications
- Must hold a valid CompTIA Security+ certification.
