HRIS Program Manager & Product Owner (Workday)

Lead the end-to-end implementation of Workday and transition into the long-term ownership, optimization, and evolution of the HRIS landscape.

This role combines program delivery excellence with product ownership mindset, ensuring sustained business value beyond go-live.

 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Phase 1: Implementation (0–24 months)

  • Lead the end-to-end Workday implementation program (scope, timeline, budget, risks)
  • Act as the primary interface between HR, IT, and external system integrators
  • Coordinate and challenge external consultants to ensure quality delivery
  • Drive requirements gathering and translate business needs into system solutions
  • Manage governance, decision-making forums, and stakeholder alignment
  • Oversee testing, data migration, integrations, and go-live readiness
  • Ensure adoption through change management and communication strategies

 

Phase 2: Product Ownership & Evolution (Post go-live)

  • Own the HRIS product roadmap, prioritizing enhancements and releases
  • Act as the internal owner of Workday, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Manage backlog, releases, and system upgrades
  • Drive HR process optimization leveraging system capabilities
  • Ensure data quality, reporting, and analytics enablement
  • Reduce dependency on external vendors over time
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to align technology with business strategy
  • 5+ years in HRIS / HR Technology / HR Transformation
  • 4+ years of experience of Workday
  • Proven experience in Workday implementation (client-side strongly preferred)
  • Workday certifications good to have
  • Experience in Core HCM and, at least one other module (Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, Learning)
  • Strong program/project management experience
  • Experience managing external vendors/system integrators
  • Solid understanding of HR processes (e.g., Core HR, Talent, Recruiting, Payroll)
  • Strong ownership and autonomy
  • Proficient level of English
  • Ability to operate across business and technology domains
  • Stakeholder management at senior level
  • Vendor management and ability to challenge external partners
  • Structured problem-solving and decision-making
