Our paid 12-week summer Internship Program gives you real exposure to technical and advisory work, structured development, and direct access to experts across our business. You'll contribute to real projects while gaining practical experience in a leading engineering consultancy. 

We're looking for students studying Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Geography, Environmental Engineering, Science, or another related discipline who are curious about how people and goods move through cities and communities. We have an opportunity available in ourTe Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington office, in ourIntegrated Transport & Mobility team.  

You'll contribute to projects that help shape how people and goods move through cities and communities. Our work considers the transport system as a whole—from roads and public transport to walking and cycling—helping create safer, more connected and sustainable places. Your summer could look like this 

• Work with data and analysis to understand how people and goods move through transport networks 

• Gain exposure to projects in transport planning, network analysis, traffic modelling, and integrated transport solutions 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Asia Pacific 

• Build your network through Limelight, our early careers community 

• Learn from experienced industry leaders and technical experts

Our Internship Program is designed to build your technical capability, grow your consulting confidence, and provide insight into different career pathways. 

Supported by your team leader, a buddy, and a dedicated early careers team, you'll take part in our Intern Learning Series and Leadership Series—helping you develop your professional skills, expand your network, and understand how complex work is delivered across teams and disciplines.

What you’ll bring 

• Currently studying civil engineering, transport planning, environmental engineering, science, geography or another related discipline, and in your second-to-last year of study 

• A genuine interest in how people and goods move through cities and communities and how transport systems can be planned, improved and connected 

• Available for 12 weeks full-time work from mid-November 2026 to February 2027 (with a two-week break over Christmas and New Year) 

• Curiosity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
