Role Overview

We are looking for an experiencedManufacturing Design Engineer to support a project focused on improving how advanced AI systems understand mechanical design and production-ready engineering workflows.

You will create and reviewparametric CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation using FreeCAD or a comparable platform. The role requires practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing. Previous AI experience is not required.

COMMITMENT: Hourly/Part-time

LOCATION: Remote

Responsibilities

• Create and modify parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Produce manufacturing-ready drawings withGD&T and tolerance specifications.
• Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding.
• Review CAD models for dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
• Perform tolerance stack-up and basic design validation.
• Prepare assembly instructions and technical reference documentation.
• Identify design issues and recommend practical improvements.
• Revise models and documentation based on technical feedback.

• At least 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing.
• Strong proficiency inFreeCAD or another parametric CAD platform.
• Experience producing production-ready parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Experience designing for at least two of the following: CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, or injection molding.
