Role Overview
We are looking for an experiencedManufacturing Design Engineer to support a project focused on improving how advanced AI systems understand mechanical design and production-ready engineering workflows.
You will create and reviewparametric CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation using FreeCAD or a comparable platform. The role requires practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing. Previous AI experience is not required.

Responsibilities
- Create and modify parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Produce manufacturing-ready drawings withGD&T and tolerance specifications.
- Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding.
- Review CAD models for dimensional accuracy and manufacturability.
- Perform tolerance stack-up and basic design validation.
- Prepare assembly instructions and technical reference documentation.
- Identify design issues and recommend practical improvements.
- Revise models and documentation based on technical feedback.
- At least 2 years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing.
- Strong proficiency inFreeCAD or another parametric CAD platform.
- Experience producing production-ready parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and Design for Manufacturing principles.
- Experience designing for at least two of the following: CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, or injection molding.
