Product Data Lead
from 🇳🇱 Netherlands
€50
About this role:
GoodHabitz is shifting from sales-led value to product-led impact — and we're looking for a Product Data Lead to found and shape the product data discipline from the ground up. You'll design the event taxonomy, instrumentation standards and analytics foundations that make product decisions measurably defensible, turning fragmented data into a trusted system that leadership can steer by. This role reports to the Director of Product and carries high visibility across product and executive leadership.
Role responsibilities:
- Build the data foundations. Define a product event taxonomy and naming conventions, partner with engineering on a tracking plan, and set up instrumentation quality monitoring so issues get caught early.
- Measure activation and retention. Build activation funnels with segmentation (LMS vs. platform, cohorts) and retention tracking with clear, repeatable cohort definitions. Teach teams to self-serve on analysis.
- Own the metrics narrative. Install a regular metrics ritual with agreed definitions and owners, and produce a clear activation → engagement → retention → GRR story that leadership can rely on.
- Enable cross-functional alignment. Clarify how product data, analytics engineering and domain teams work together, lead the sequencing of critical identity plumbing (like account-level joins), and balance shipping practical v1 models with iterating toward rigor.
This role is for you if you have:
- Experience building a product data system end-to-end — instrumentation, modeling and dashboards
- Comfortable working hands-on as an individual contributor (SQL, modeling, dashboarding) while also shaping how the discipline scales over time
- Experience owning a tracking plan, event taxonomy or naming conventions in partnership with engineering
- Skilled at turning ambiguous product and business questions into clear, durable measurement definitions
- A track record of improving trust in data through quality practices and clear documentation
- Experience with B2B SaaS product teams, ideally with multi-surface journeys, is a plus
- Comfortable working across Product, Engineering and Revenue/CS stakeholders
This role is not for you if:
- You'd rather join an established data team than build the discipline from scratch: This role starts with defining the foundations, not maintaining existing ones
- You prefer staying purely hands-on: This role also means shaping structure, process and scope as the discipline matures
- You're looking for a narrowly scoped analytics role: This one spans instrumentation, modeling, executive reporting and cross-team alignment
- You'd rather work from settled definitions than build consensus around new ones: You'll be leading debates about ownership, priorities and shared metrics
